Launch of Art Week 2023: Underwater Conversation

Community members joined Miami-Dade County Artist-in-Residence Xavier Cortada for an exciting event at the Miami Beach Regional Library on Monday, December 4th where the Cortada Foundation kicked off Art Week 2023 with a splash!

At 5pm, attendees had the opportunity to create their own elevation yard signs. Then, at 6pm, they listened to a panel and participated in conversations on creative approaches to addressing the climate crisis. The panel discussion featured:

  • Brian Haus, Professor & Associate Dean for Infrastructure, University of Miami RSMAES
  • Christine Kuan, President & Executive Director, Creative Capital

Art Week 2023 Finale: Underwater Conversation

Miami-Dade County Artist-in-Residence Xavier Cortada hosted an ‘Underwater Conversation’ to close out Miami Art Week 2023 at Moonlighter FabLab on Sunday, December 10th as a way of celebrating the Cortada Foundation’s historic climate action during the previous week.

This event included a solutions-oriented panel discussion featuring:

  • Kylee Crook, Director of Education, Bass Museum
  • Katie Mach, Associate Professor, University of Miami RSMAES
